Fifty Thousand Homes: campaigning to get London building the homes we need to remain competitive.

Fifty Thousand Homes is a business-led campaign to double housebuilding in London to at least 50,000 homes a year by the end of the Mayoralty in 2020, in order to protect and enhance the capital’s competitiveness as a global city.

London is in the midst of a housing crisis and if this is not addressed there will be dire social and economic consequences.

In 2014, just under 24,000 new homes were built.  London needs to be building at least 50,000 a year to sustain a population set to grow to ten million by 2036.

For business in London to continue to flourish we must build far greater numbers of homes for our growing workforce.  This is why business leaders are speaking out to kickstart positive action on building the homes London needs.

Fifty Thousand Homes is a campaign coalition that includes over one hundred business leaders; along with the support of London First, CBI London, FSB London, Shelter and others.
